Ed Cesnalis Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 I was solo this morning with only a me, my camera and 50lbs of fuel to slow my climb. Climbing Pine Creek Canyon out of Mammoth can't be done in my CT with a passenger without orbiting for altitude but today solo I did it indicating 90kts. Photo is of the top of the Sierra Nevada west of Bishop, CA where I found ice for the back country ice skaters.
Runtoeat Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 Nice shot of mountains catching rising sun. What time was this? What is the outside temp at this altitude?
Ed Cesnalis Posted November 20, 2017 Author Report Posted November 20, 2017 Dick, Yesterday morning at 7:56AM. My altitide is 13,500 and the terrain front of me is about the same. It was 10*F. This shot while climbing shows I ended up above 2 canyons instead of down in the one to the left.
FredG Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Ed, your photos make my day. Thanks. Fred (in Iowa, where a mountain has a 200 ft elevation)
