Runtoeat Posted December 2, 2017 Report Share Posted December 2, 2017 Buckaroo, I am not an expert and Tom Baker knows much more than I but based on a few CTSW's I've seen with damage like this, you many need at least one new aluminum landing gear strut for this side of your CT. Roger Lee Posted December 3, 2017 Report Share Posted December 3, 2017 I've seen this before and it can happen even if there is no bad landing. The fairing comes out side the fuselage and just the flex in the leg during a landing shoves it up into the fuselage protrusion chipping it out. It isn't hard to repair and to keep it from happening again you need some packing material up inside the fairing so it stays centered and can't fall off to one side. The bent gear rod in the scrap metal bin didn't present that nice of a picture. Good to know there could be damage like this without a bad landing.
