Anticept Posted March 8, 2018 Report Share Posted March 8, 2018 Requiring rotax training for example. It is not required. You only need to have done the task before. That can mean you've done it with another mechanic. It is true that we're not supposed to perform a task that isn't in the manual. Problem is, when does something become a task? I know for certain that there's a whole bunch of things that are not in the manual that wouldn't even be possible to do during an inspection if you interpret that strictly. They don't tell you how to open the wing inspection panels for example (to inspect the bellcrank). They don't tell you how to remove and reinstall avionics panels. They don't even tell you, up until the past few years, how to adjust the belt on the seats or that you have to. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
