Buckaroo
As you know my non starting motor is, thanks to this board, directing me to check the battery and ignition system. The couple non Rotax Ai’s at the airport are suggesting I check the fuel system especially the gas filter. So I don’t sound too stupid how the hell does one get to the fuel filter to at least see it and while at it inspect it? Ive looked through the manuals but the directions are vague! Roger Lee
I have only seen one fuel filter ever in a CT that had any real amount of debris in the fuel filter and even then it didn't affect the fuel flow. I guarantee this isn't a fuel filter issue because it has the wrong symptoms, but you can check it if you want. The only way this could be a clogged fuel filter is if you have been dumping garbage fuel in your tanks. My guess is you haven't. The non Rotax AI's are going to lead you down the wrong path. This isn't a Continental or Lycoming. It's either down behind the lower center panel back near the firewall and if someone was smart they relocated it up behind the EFIS on the pilot side. If it's behind the center panel it's a royal PITA to get to, remove and re-install.
Tom Baker
A quick check for the fuel filter is a flow test at the gascolator quick drain. It should drain a cup of fuel in 10 to 12 seconds.
procharger
Knuckle buster . If you half to check it put some heat on the hoses before you try to remove them. Hair dryer or heat gun be careful.
Roger Lee
I move all of them on the first hose change to up behind the EFIS. If people can't get to it easily they tend to never check them. Behind the EFIS you pop the panel, use a screwdriver and it's in your hand.

Its going to be interesting to see if my ride will start tomorrow after the ice trick early this morning allowed her to run all day!
