Matt LaVergne
Looking for any alternative door strut options.
Tip
Roger Lee has shocks that stay up. Mine are 10 years old.
Animosity2k
For squeaky or noisy struts what is everyone using to lubricate them?

Matter of fact, I just wipe them down and keep them clean of debris. What I do practice though . . . each time I open the doors up, I make sure they are fully opened, all the way to the stops. I get better life out of the struts by doing that. Otherwise, the door struts lose their tension and the weight of the doors will cause the doors to start sagging down. I ordered my last set from Roger Lee. YMMV. Mine don't sag, they just make a scratching rubbing noise. I think they just need lube up. sandpiper
Or Inox? Seems to work for many of our CT lube needs. Hard to find in Oregon and expensive though.
Animosity2k
https://www.amazon.com/Inox-MX3-Lubricant-300gm/dp/B0043TQ760 Is that the INOX you guys are talking about? Someone mentioned 5606 but couldn't find it on amazon
AGLyme
Works great. PS: My only issue with it is the too-short plastic lube delivery tube that comes with it. I wish I could find a tube about a foot long. Much easier to lubricate hard to reach points say... in the mixer through the baggage compartment for example. "Food Grade," of course! 5606 is Mil-Spec hydraulic fluid (color red). Used as brake fluid in CT's and other aircraft. Pretty nasty stuff. So you would buy the inox and not 5606? I have a set that is 3' long. I use them for lubing the rollers in the wing on a CT.
Tom Baker
Here is another that is longer. https://www.ebay.com/i/113027544675?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=113027544675&targetid=885639120148&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9022696&poi=&campaignid=9343999179&mkgroupid=103102860388&rlsatarget=pla-885639120148&abcId=1139336&merchantid=137735066&gclid=Cj0KCQjwncT1BRDhARIsAOQF9LnWOFAPJweDD0CfwL4Gt3P599TeQXIsKuQCBdnrDEcWhcyrCAcV-UYaAl5wEALw_wcB

As Bill states, 5606 is military grade brake fluid and is in the CT's brake lines and reservoir.

I have replaced them because they didn't hold the door up anymore, but not because of noise. I would try a little spray silicone or some Inox. You can spray it on a rag and wipe it down. Innox is $23 shipped a can, any other cheap spray lubricant you recommend that I may be able to find locally and a bit cheaper?
Tom Baker
Spray silicone. It should be available at any auto parts store, hardware store, or even Walmart. Inox can be bought here, https://www.ebay.com/itm/INOX-MX3-100-AEROSOL-CAN-LUBE-N-MORE/254487322298?epid=5012058916&hash=item3b40a05eba:g:kCcAAOxygPtS-uMf&redirect=mobile .
