KENNY MCATEE
2007 SW just bought couple months ago. i replaced the hose from muffler to that heater box mounted on the firewall. i checked to see how much that butterfly valve moved with the heater knob pulled all the way out. didn't. seem to move very much like a 1/4 in or so. also checked carb heat system haven't figured out how that works. trying to get plane straightened out before winter. can anybody give me input on these subjects? Tom Baker
The heater can be adjusted on the bottom end. It should go fully open, and fully closed. If it doesn't do both it will not work well. The carb heat is adjusted behind the instrument panel. It is more of an alternate air source than actual carb heat. It blocks the filter and allows air in the bottom of the box from the engine compartment.
Tip
I saw a 2007 that the flapper wasn’t able to travel all the way because it would hit a screw head on the bottom of the box. The screw head needed to be ground down some and the flapper was then free to travel all the way.
