Bill3558
Do you guys with CTLS ever be flying long in level flight and have your stick bump a little? I took my hand off and the stick periodically bumps slightly fore and aft. I just wonder what’s that about.
Roger Lee
Minute stick bump has been normal.
207WF
A common problem, more so with the CTSW. When these birds first came out, a writer for Flying magazine noticed it and really hated the CT. I am so used to it I don't notice it any more. Might check to make sure your wheel pants aren't loose. WF
cdarza
12 years flying and i've come to accept it. (CTSW) It is minor though.
Tom Baker
It has to do with laminar airflow separation and re attachment on the stabilator becuse of how the air comes off the wingroot fuselage junction.
Jim Meade
I put LS wing dams at the wing root on my SW. I think it may have reduced the stick bump, but I won't testify to it. Never did an objective test.
AGLyme
Is this an early model SW issue only ? Thx
Tom Baker
More prominent on the SW. They tried to address the issue with the LS when they did the full scale wind tunnel test. It is improved, but not completely gone. You will only notice it in smooth air around cruise speed.
AGLyme
Never felt it... I have an LS... thank you,
FlyingMonkey
I have a 2007 CTSW and have never noticed a pronounced "bump"... certainly nothing more than the normal stick movements due to air not being perfectly smooth as I've felt in other airplanes. Tom Baker
The only time I have seen it is in dead smooth air, when the airplane is trimmed hands off in cruise. When it happens it is a pronounced bump unlike any other airplane I have flown. The typical response the first time you feel it is, oh shit what's going on. johnnyjr
2005 CTSW, feel it, know why and it doesn't bother me at all.
Roger Lee
This topic has been discussed for 13 years. Kind of like the uneven fuel drain. Every so often it pops back up with new CT owners. The mild stick motion isn't a flight issue.
Bill3558
Thank you. I didn’t know. I will not worry about it.
