procharger
What is torque on the rubber mounts when new thanks??
Tom Baker
I don't think there is a published number from Flight Design. For that size bolt/nut 40nm or 29.5ft/lb would be about right. Honestly once it is tight on the metal bushing inside the Fiat silent blocks that is all you really need. You certainly don't need to torque it so much as to deform the bushing. Roger Lee
225 in/lbs
Tom Baker
There you go. I remember Roger saying he ask Flight Design. Like I said, because of the design once you are tight on the bushing it really doesn't make much difference. Besides torque should really be set on the nut, not the head of the bolt. That makes these difficult to torque properly.
Roger Lee
I always change the engine mounts when I do a hose change. The engine is out and the mounts and bolts are easily accessible to install and torque.

I do the same, but with the bolts installed from behind and the nuts towards the engine access to the nuts for torqueing is not ideal.
