Big Flapper Posted July 12, 2021 Report Posted July 12, 2021 I'm working on the AP servos and I really like the clean control feel from the stick. Has anyone else flown the CTLS without the AP servos connected? If so is there anything that I need to be aware of if I fly without the servos while I'm doing the changes? Quote
Madhatter Posted July 13, 2021 Report Posted July 13, 2021 I put the garmin G3X autopilot in and there is 0 drag when not engaged, much better than the TruTrac. Quote

So long as you're not leaving the rod hanging off the pitch control arm, obvious jam up sort of snags, the removal of the servos and linkages is mainly what you're looking at. A spacer for not having the rod end installed, or ensuring it can't bind if left in place, is what you need to confirm here. There is a longer bolt on the roll arm. Answer is based on my SW set up. There may be differences in a LS I'm not aware of. I'd suspect you could leave the rod end in place, and secure it with tape or zip tie, just so it does not flip around (providing it can't interfere with anything in all control travel situations). Proceed with caution. Quote
