Arian
We are aware of a diminishing supply of PC310 (SBS8) batteries. There are two options for owners who need a replacement battery, if they cannot find the correct model. Both options require an MRA ($75). Option 1 (less expensive, but possibly less desirable): Purchase a PC545 and fabricate a battery box. We do not have the boxes for that size battery in stock, and we're unsure when they will become available. Option 2 (more expensive, but the better option in our opinion): Purchase an EarthX ETX680C battery ($379) with the EarthX battery box ($49). Anticept
Do the Earthx battery option, everyone. Your sprag clutch will thank you. First time you shred your sprag because of a kickback from a weak battery, you'll have paid the difference for an earthx install 5 times over. Despite having the larger starters on ULS engines, the battery can't deliver the power for it to run at full speed with the SBS8/PC310. The EarthX battery can and makes a MASSIVE difference in starting. It also lasts a lot longer in the event of an alternator failure, and is much less affected by the cold. I can't remember if the injected engine ever shipped with anything but lithium, but if it did, it too will benefit. Also remember, you must use a charger designed for lithium, and strongly suggest those designed for earthx batteries as there is a battery management circuit. There's also the insulating battery box to protect the battery from engine heat. BB-TH-CO. You have to ask for that in the MRA, and note that the dimensions are slightly larger than the FD battery box, so make sure that if you are going to install this, that you can fit it on the firewall without drilling through something like the door flange on the other side.
