Eddie Cesnalis
This is my first nose wheel flat. Who has tubes in stock and what size should it be? 4 x 4.00 ?
Tom Baker
4.00 x 4 Aircraft Spruce is out of stock, but here is a link to Desser. https://shop.desser.com/4.00x4-aero-classic-inner-tube,-for-4.00x4-tire-|-dtr20-206/ecomm-product-detail/333924/ Here is another source, https://wingsandwheels.com/aircraft-parts/tubes/400x4-aero-classic-tube.html If you are doing tires I prefer this over the Aero Classic, but it is a little pricy. https://wingsandwheels.com/aircraft-parts/tires/400x4-tost-aero-8-pr.html
Towner
On the last 3 tubes I bought from Desser (main gear), the valves were junk and would leak slightly. After putting on and filling the first tube, I didn’t notice it leaking due to other noise in the hanger, but was flat the next day. On each tube, the valves would stick slightly open after filling the tube. You could play with them a bit and get them to seal, but Became a reoccurring problem each time I added air, so just swapped out the valves. Not a big deal, but nice to know before finding the flat tire.

Do they last longer than the AC’s?
GrassStripFlyBoy
Not speaking for Tom, curious too. I'm running Tost on nose, it's light, well balanced, and prefer the tread for grass. Quality tire.
Tom Baker
I have seen issues with the Aero Classics on some CTSW's where the tire rubs on the weldment where the fork attaches to the strut. Also the Aero Classic tire has a really stiff sidewall.
