Ken Posted June 16, 2023 Report Posted June 16, 2023 Hi Folks: Has anyone ever had this happen? The spring was fine but the lower receiving attachment split and the spring worked its way through the split. Then no carb it goes to idle. Had some damage to the nose gear and probably some other damage from a bounced landing. I bent the receiver back into place and will reinforce or replace that piece after the insurance company takes a look everything. Ken N296CT Quote
FlyingMonkey Posted June 16, 2023 Report Posted June 16, 2023 There's a tiny white nylon bushing that's supposed to go in the spring bracket attach point to prevent metal-on-metal contact. Don't jump on me, this pic was taken before I replaced the drip tray, springs, etc. Quote
Anticept Posted June 16, 2023 Report Posted June 16, 2023 Those nylon bushings SUCK. The heat makes them brittle. Quote

Madhatter Posted June 16, 2023 Report Posted June 16, 2023 Good post. Sorry you had to be the teaching one by taking one for the team. Quote

FlyingMonkey Posted June 16, 2023 Report Posted June 16, 2023 The bracket is easy to replace, that's the easiest way IMO. And put the bushing in while you're at it. Quote
