shiny.ice
Per GAMA's stats (PDF), FD had zero sales in Q1 and four in Q2: a F2 and three CTs. By comparison, Icon sold 9 A5s in Q2, Tecnam sold 35 among two LSA types (if I'm counting correctly).
Tom Baker
The war in Ukraine was a big factor in this.
Madhatter
The big question is if FD will survive, most lsa manufacturers don't under these circumstances. Lots of money going out and nothing coming in. I hope they do but it will be hard, there are a lot of new models coming out from other manufacturers. Anticept
This is who owns Flight Design now: https://www.liftholdings.com/ Granted that directors will only be so patient with posting losses, but I wouldn't worry about them going out of business from a negative balance sheet, they'll be far from it. And flight design isn't their only aircraft manufacturer that this company has.
Madhatter
No company takes a consistent loss with a high liability product, aviation is littered with failed aircraft products. Hopefully they will survive.

I don't think that's the right website, it's this: https://lift-air.com/index.php/en/products What other production-level companies do they have? They only list a couple of experiments/projects. Anticept
Lift air is a subsidiary of lift holdings. They're in the logistical business and want to get a foot in the aviation door. Their acquisition of flight design was towards that goal.

I still don't see any connection between the Australian company and the German one. I think there are two Lift Holdings.
Anticept
https://www.avweb.com/air-shows-events/flight-design-under-new-ownership/ "Lift Air is a part of Lift Holding, which also owns the Rotorvox gyrocopter manufacturer. The two aviation projects will be combined in a new, modern facility at the Kindel Airport, near Eisenach, in central Germany" https://www.flyingmag.com/we-fly-flight-design-f2/ "Those fortunes changed in 2017, when Flight Design was purchased by Lift Air, a division of Lift Holdings and financially supported by Lindig Group, an industrial manufacturer in Germany. http://flightdesignusa.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Flight-Design-general-aviation-USA-News-Fall-20171.pdf Unfortunately, I don't know how to search or even read Germany's business filings to find any further connections. All I know is the holding company has a lot of diversification, I think it was also into furniture?
shiny.ice
Yeah, the Australian Lift Holdings doesn't appear to be in aviation, even gyros. They just have a similar name.
