rookie Posted August 21, 2011 Report Share Posted August 21, 2011 Hey Roger, I'm installing a new Desser tube & tire on a new Matco wheel. There's no way the stem will fit unless I do some " dremmel modification". Matco said there's no problem doing it but seems strange that it would be necessary. You've worked on tons of Matco wheels & Desser tubes, does it normally require grinding clearance for the base of the 90 deg. stem? al meyer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Roger Lee Posted August 21, 2011 Report Share Posted August 21, 2011 Hi Al, The Matco wheel takes only 90 degree stems and you can not use any straight stems. If you have a 90 degree stem and it doesn't fit then it is operator error on the install. It will work without any modification and without any issues. Guaranteed call me if you have any problems.
