Roger Lee Posted October 30, 2013 Report Share Posted October 30, 2013 Pre-heating is not just the oil. It is about different metal expansion rates and sluggish starts. You have different metals in the engine and extra cold starts are hard on parts, the sprag, the starter, the battery, the gearbox, ect... If you live in cold country and your engine is subjected to temps below 30F every night then you might consider it.
